Together once again
Hello friends!
“Together once again” or shall I say “Crazily together once again” — Haha! We are excited and charged 100% to hold our Golden Jubilee meet. We can’t wait to reminisce about our past and share stories about our journeys besides laugh, sing and dance together and if we continue to take care of our health (body and mind), we may even have our Platinum Jubilee meet. Amen!
Our journey together started in summer of 1974 in that monstrous looking (at least to me) lecture theatre in the Anatomy department. I can clearly visualise Mr. DD entertaining us with his pranks for a few minutes before Madam Ahuja entered. He probably understood we needed to lighten up to absorb all that she was going to teach us. Together we all survived what followed – those 5 plus adventurous years punctuated by ragging — confusions—studies—fun—mischiefs—mass bunks—more studies and what not! Needless to say, that during this process, many ‘Fevicol’ type of bonds were forming.
One more important thing happened during those years — elections! We got our CR whose guidance we seek even today. But how many of us know what sacrifices he had to make to lead our class through some good and not so good times. Well, that story another time — from the horse’s mouth himself.
During our journey beyond that period, we all faced challenges, joys and sorrows, personal losses of our dear ones, while raising families. But it’s my greatest pride to say that you all touched the sky in your own special ways and in your own expertise — be it academia, medical practice, research, achievements in Industry, management, governance, building of hospitals, charity and social work, making the whole world laugh and above all being there for families and friends.
So, friends, now is the time to sit back together and celebrate those amazing journeys. We are thankful to everyone who is putting in efforts in spite of busy schedules and health issues to make this event a memorable one. We are excited to have our own website now. We invite all of you to share your ideas, thoughts and stories — funny or not so funny— even the scary ones— and we promise to keep them a secret — ha-ha! Just joking!
Let’s get the ball rolling and show our enthusiasm. Looking forward to maximum participation. Some of us (including myself) missed our Silver Jubilee. We are NOT going to miss this one!
My best wishes to all.
