As I sit on my desk this morning, it feels surreal!
Like all of us, I have always been aware of vulnerabilities of life. I appreciate the waves of ocean rising and ebbing even more now. Some reach the shore and then disappear into nothingness (that’s the rule of Nature!). Others disappear before reaching the shore. But rise they did. And those waves did bring a lot of thrill and excitement when they were moving towards the shore.
This pretty much sums up what Sanjeev (Billa) Sachdev was in our batchmates’ lives. There are very few people in our lives that leave an indelible imprint on our lives. He was ‘That One’. Yes, he did leave us before anyone expected or wished but not before entertaining us all in the Classmates’ group. His witty and loving comebacks won’t be forgotten. He was a perfect gentleman and dear friend loved and respected by all. Very honest, sweet and always smiling, he really was Special.
Reading the outpouring of grief in our group chat, from even those that never or hardly ever post anything, is telling!
We all are saddened by this happening. But let’s try to rise above the grief and cherish the beautiful memories that he left with us and celebrate our association with this great personality. Thank you Billa dear for being a proud part of our lives! In the form of your loving wife Veena, you will still be part of us!
